Strategic Planning

Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre

Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre (KDCC) was opened in 2012, and situated on the banks of the Yukon River. It is a place where community members and visitors alike come to engage with cultural and traditional knowledge about the Kwanlin Dün people, Yukon First Nations People and the community of Whitehorse. The centre consists of a long house, artists studios, a gallery, classrooms, and an outdoor ceremonial space on the banks of the Yukon River.

Working as part of the collaborative strategic planning and facilitation team - with Lord Cultural Resources and Sa’hetxw Consulting - the aim of this strategic planning process (ongoing in 2023) is to envision and create a 5 year strategic plan to ensure the KDCC continues to be operationally sustainable, while responding to the needs and fulfilling the original cultural vision and potential of the centre, by and for its community. This includes assessing and developing recommendations for key program areas, partnerships, exhibits and engagement, resourcing, as well as digital.
