Augmented Reality Cliff Viewers

Perlan Museum (Rejkjavik)

For the Perlan Exploratorium in Reykjavik, we led a team from ngx, to develop an augmented reality (AR) exhibit that transports visitors to Iceland's iconic Látrabjarg sea-cliffs.

Project scope included concept development, planning, prototyping, and working with a massive detailed replica of the cliffs to develop connections between fixed AR viewers and digitally embedded content in the cliff-face. Visitors “bird-watch” through the AR viewers, triggering animated vignettes that make complex biological stories clear and comprehensible.

Beautiful and scientifically accurate animation combined with technical precision yield a unique visitor experience that memorably brings this iconic and geographically remote coastal ecology, within reach for visitors to Iceland.
